Old Testament Prophets: An Analysis

What is a prophet, as described in the Book of Acts/Ephesians? It is not telling the future or forecasting financial initiatives and trends. It is not divining. It's not predicting who you will marry. Prophecy is is a warning to turn away from disaster and some folks don't like to hear that. Do we have prophets today?
